Getting Your Virginia Motorcycle License Once you graduate from our Basic RiderCourse, we’ll issue you a Virginia DMV Certificate—your fast track to legal two-wheel riding. Here’s What That Certificate Does: If you already hold a valid Virginia driver’s license, the certificate serves as your temporary Class “M2” endorsement for 30 days from the date you complete the course. The certificate is also valid for one full year as a waiver for the written and road-skills tests required by the Virginia DMV. How to Get Your Endorsement: Bring your certificate and your current Virginia driver’s license to any DMV office. You’ll apply for a new license that includes your Class “M2” endorsement. Your updated license will arrive in the mail within 3–5 business days. Out-of-State? Here’s What to Know: Many states—except Maryland—accept Virginia’s DMV Certificate as proof of motorcycle safety course completion. However, we recommend contacting your local DMV directly to confirm. Some states may also request a course completion letter from us. No problem—just ask, and we’ll be happy to provide one.
